Set on the outskirts of Grand Teton National Park, Amangani is a luxury hilltop resort offering striking views of the surrounding Snake River Valley and Teton Mountain Range. Amangani, which means peaceful home, lives up to its name. Each of the 40 suites features a private balcony or terrace with expansive views, indoor fireplace with a seating area, and a spa-like bathroom equipped with luxurious amenities. Elements like redwood panelling and American West decor can be found throughout the resort, giving it a cozy, western feeling. Amangani also offers spacious homes overlooking the Snake River Valley for guests traveling in a larger group or seeking even more privacy.
The location of the resort is unbeatable. It is adjacent to world-class ski resorts and just minutes from both the town center and Grand Teton National Park. An all-season destination, guests can spend their days hiking, skiing, and mountain biking. Resort amenities include a heated outdoor pool and hot tub, a spa, fitness center, as well as a restaurant that specializes in local, sustainable food. They also offer yoga classes and can arrange guided experiences such as horseback riding, wildlife safaris, heli-skiing, and dog sledding.
While we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, we felt that the price tag was too steep for what was offered (usually $1100-1600 per night in the summer and fall). Essentially, the price you pay is only for the suite and access to the pool, library, and fitness center. Everything else costs extra and is on the expensive side. The poolside chips and guacamole were $47! We knew it would be steep, but were shocked when we got the bill. We were lucky to have received a rare discount on the room through a third-party vendor that we also split between three of us. We travelled in September 2020 during the COVID pandemic. The resort took the necessary precautions to limit interactions with other guests staying at the property. I applaud the staff for being very attentive and making our stay extremely comfortable.
